Palworld Passive Skill Calculator
Breeding the right species is step one; breeding it with the right passive skills is the real project. Enter how many passives each parent carries, how many of them the two share, and how many specific passives the child must end up with — the calculator returns the odds per egg. The model — read this before quoting the number
This calculator uses the simplified community model of Palworld passive inheritance, not the game's internal code:
- The parents contribute one combined pool of unique passives (a + b − overlap). Passives neither parent has cannot be inherited.
- The child inherits k passives drawn at random, without replacement, from that pool; k runs from 1 to 4 (capped by the pool size) and each count is treated as equally likely.
- The result averages the exact combinatorial odds C(n−d, k−d) / C(n, k) across those k values.
- Ignored on purpose: the game's extra random-passive rolls (children can gain passives neither parent had), any hidden per-passive weighting, and mutations. Treat the percentage as a planning estimate — it is the same style of model the community calculators publish, with the assumptions stated instead of hidden.
How to use these odds
Passive inheritance is a numbers game: a 25% chance does not mean the fourth egg is guaranteed, it means roughly one egg in four, averaged over many hatches. Breeders shrink the odds in their favour by removing overlap (two parents carrying the same passive waste pool slots) and by pre-breeding parents that already hold several desired passives, so the final pair starts with a small, focused pool.
For the mechanics behind the model, read the palworld passive skill breeding guide; for what to aim for, see the palworld passive skills list and the palworld passive skills tier list.
